Advanced Yoga Teacher Training UK What This Immersion Covers

Ashtanga Mysore Practice & Prāṇāyāma Training

Daily Mysore-style practice with direct observation and hands-on guidance from Tara Mitra, an Ashtanga Level 2 practitioner for 23 years who spent four years assisting at KPJAYI in Mysore, India. Prāṇāyāma is taught not as technique in isolation but as the central axis of practice, the bridge between the gross body and the subtle, as understood within yoga tradition.

For teachers seeking to deepen their personal practice and transmit breath-led movement with integrity, this is the training.

The Art of Adjusting, 20 Hours Hands-On Yoga Adjustment Training

The most comprehensive hands-on adjustment training available in the UK within a lineage-based framework. Over 20 hours you will develop anatomical precision, therapeutic sensitivity, and the relational intelligence to work safely and skillfully with every body in the room.

Dr Rob Lamport brings 28+ years of clinical chiropractic expertise, also known as the “chiropractor for yogis” in Mysore, to the understanding of structural mechanics, injury, and safe hands-on work. This is not generic adjustment training; it’s intelligent, clinical, and experiential for any teacher who works with real bodies and real injuries.

Yoga Sūtra & Bhagavad Gītā, Study for Yoga Teachers

Key teachings from the Yoga Sūtra of Patañjali and the Bhagavad Gītā studied in their living application. Tara teaches philosophy as it was transmitted to her through the Dr Vigneshwar Bhat.

This is yoga philosophy not as academic survey but as a precision instrument for understanding what arises in practice, in teaching, and in life.

Vedic & Stotra Chanting, Traditional Mantra Training England

Transmission of Vedic mantra and stotra in the traditional oral manner under Tara Mitra’s guidance a practitioner who has studied Vedic chanting for over 12 years in Vedic lineage. Pronunciation, intonation, and the energetic quality of sound are refined through direct practice and correction.

For yoga teachers who understand that sound is inseparable from the practice of yoga, and practitioners who want their chanting rooted in authentic transmission rather than approximation.

Posture Theory, Sanskrit Names & Yoga Therapy

Study of āsana through their Sanskrit names, traditional meanings, energetic functions, and therapeutic applications. Intelligent work with injury from both a yoga therapy perspective (Tara is a Certified Yoga Therapist, C-IYAT, Krishnamacharya lineage) and a clinical structural perspective (Dr Rob, Gonstead DC, Student of holistic doctor, Dr Jagadesh, Mysore).

Meditation, Reflective Practice & Structured Dialogue

Dhāraṇā and dhyāna practices rooted in the Yoga Sūtra. Structured reflective triads and open dialogue, the conditions in which real understanding surfaces. Some of the most significant learning of the immersion happens here

There are elements of yoga that require physical presence, that is what we are offering…

Why Serious Practitioners Travel to This Immersion

Yoga teachers and dedicated practitioners come to this immersion from across the world because this combination does not exist elsewhere.

Tara Mitra is one of the very few Western teachers who carries years of direct transmission from the Krishnamacharya lineage, and who integrates Ashtanga practice, yoga as a therapy, Vedic chanting, and classical philosophy into a single coherent teaching framework.

Dr Rob Lamport trained in Ashtanga in Mysore in the early 2000s, spent years as a clinical Gonstead chiropractor, and trained in prāṇāyāma under Sri O.P. Tiwari ji of Kaivalyadhama. The integration of his clinical and contemplative expertise with Tara’s lineage-based depth creates an educational environment that is genuinely without equivalent in the UK.

This is rare access. The spaces are deliberately few.
