Tara is a Certified Yoga Therapist in the tradition of T. Krishnamacharya & his son T.K.V. Desikachar in Chennai, India. Her interest in yoga therapy is a focus to help heal others from injury and imbalances within the body.

How It works?
Tara will review your complete health and customize a program just for you. All programs are created on a case-by-case bases. Sessions may include breathing techniques (pranayama), postures (asana), chanting, meditation, relaxation techniques, and / or the promotion of behavioral changes (through diet).

Class Details
All classes are one-to-one, offering a personalized approach to yoga tailored to your unique needs. It is recommended to begin with a minimum of three months to see meaningful progress, though the duration can be adjusted based on your goals. Sessions can be scheduled weekly, biweekly or spaced out as needed- whether multiple times a week or every few weeks. The process starts with an initial session to assess your overall state, followed by 2-3 sessions to refine and create your practice. From there, we can adjust the frequency to maintain and build upon your established practice, ideally meeting weekly for a minimum of three months for lasting results.
Meet Your Teacher, Tara Mitra:
Tara, with over 22 years of dedicated yoga practice, blends her East Indian and Canadian roots into her teachings. She is trained in traditional Ashtanga Yoga under esteemed teachers Tim Miller, R. Sharath Jois, and R. Saraswathi Jois. She lived 5 years in Mysore, India, seeking pure knowledge at the source. As a certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) specializing in trauma, stress, and anxiety, Tara takes a holistic approach to healing. She combines her expertise in yoga (asana, pranayama, pratyahara and dharana practices) with her nutrition and culinary skills while integrating her extensive studies in Vedic chanting, carnatic music, yoga philosophy and Ayurveda (the sister science to yoga).
