A Holistic Path to Healing
At Tara Mitra Yoga School, Yoga therapy is a holistic and individualised approach to physical, mental and emotional well-being. Offering an integrated, alternative to conventional treatments, empowering individuals to address health concerns naturally through tailored practices rooted in the profound wisdom of the Krishnamacharya lineage.
Many are drawn to yoga therapy as a way to explore non-invasive, holistic solutions that go beyond the limits of pharmaceuticals or clinical interventions. Tara specializes in identifying the underlying causes of discomfort and creates personalized programs to alleviate symptoms, support healing, and restore balance. At its core, yoga therapy offers tools to help “digest” life’s challenges—both internal and external—while fostering resilience and vitality.
What is Yoga Therapy
Yoga Therapy is a personalized approach to wellness that empowers you to unlock your body’s natural ability to heal and thrive. By combining ancient wisdom with modern understanding, it addresses not just physical ailments but also mental and emotional well-being. Whether you are seeking to manage pain, reduce stress, or improve overall health, yoga therapy offers holistic, non-invasive tools tailored to your unique needs.
Yoga Therapy integrates movement (asana), breathing exercises (pranayama), meditation, and lifestyle adjustments to address physical, emotional, and spiritual health. What Students Say
T ara’s expertise in Ayurveda and yoga therapy has significantly changed my body and my life. I began yoga therapy and an Ayurvedic consultation with her in December, hoping to adapt my practice and food habits to address endometriosis pain, frequent colds, bronchitis, and anxiety. With simple yet effective techniques, I stayed illness-free all winter. My energy remained high and stable, even while caring for sick people. A consistent sleep schedule, kashayam, homemade food, and a personalized yoga and pranayama practice helped stabilize my energy and mind, honoring my body’s uniqueness. I’m truly grateful for Tara’s mentorship. As a woman and yoga teacher, I highly recommend exploring Ayurveda with her—it’s essential for true well-being.

I have practiced with Tara for a while now starting with Ashtanga 10 years ago. I have found Pranayama to be astonishingly effective at calming my nervous system and overactive brain, while at the same time giving me the ability to focus, in a highly concentrated way on my work. I always thought until then that cooling, relaxing breath would have the opposite effect, making me not want to work! But in fact, by activating the vagus nerve, it gives me a level of chill that is super powerful, particularly when I write and have client meetings. As a marketer for decades and now my own firm, I have found it to be a surprisingly powerful tool and highly recommend it to others.
