Shikshavalli, Taittirya Upanishad

£155.00

This Upanishad is one of the ancient philosophical texts of Hinduism and is part of the Krishna Yajurveda.

It is divided into three sections, known as "Vallis" or chapters: the Shiksha Valli, the Brahmananda Valli, and the Bhrigu Valli.

Shiksha Valli (Chapter on Education): This section deals with the importance of education and the duty of a student towards his teacher (Guru). It contains teachings on various subjects including phonetics, grammar, meter, and astronomy, emphasizing the holistic approach to education.

Brahmananda Valli (Chapter on the Bliss of Brahman): This chapter delves into the nature of Brahman, the ultimate reality, and the path to realizing it. It discusses the various sheaths (koshas) that veil the true Self (Atman) and outlines a gradual journey of self-realization through meditation and contemplation.

Bhrigu Valli (Chapter on Bhrigu): This section narrates the story of Bhrigu, a sage, who undertakes a journey to discover the ultimate reality. Through a series of meditative inquiries, Bhrigu realizes that Brahman is the underlying essence of all existence, transcending the material world.

The Taittiriya Upanishad is renowned for its philosophical depth and spiritual insights. It explores profound concepts such as the nature of the self (Atman), the relationship between the individual soul and the universal consciousness (Brahman), and the methods of attaining spiritual liberation (Moksha). It is considered one of the principal Upanishads and is revered by scholars and spiritual seekers for its profound wisdom and timeless teachings.

In this in-depth study we will be taught in two sections for each Upanishad.
