With over fifteen years of study, nearly ten under the tutelage of Vedic priest & scholar Dr Vigneshwar Bhat, Tara brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her teaching. Her immersive courses introduce you to Guru Shishya Parampara—the oral tradition of passing sacred texts verbally for centuries to preserve their purity and essence, from teacher to student.
Through the study of Shruti, learning to listen and the foundational rules of chanting, you will develop a precise and authentic practice. With Tara’s guidance, you will learn to read translations of Devanagari while exploring the deeper meanings behind the mantras.
What is Vedic Chanting?
Vedic Chanting is a timeless and sacred practice rooted in the ancient Vedas—India’s oldest spiritual texts. Through the power of sound, rhythm, and breath, Vedic chanting connects practitioners to deeper layers of consciousness, fostering mental clarity, emotional balance, and spiritual growth. Chanting has the ability to lift the mind out of distraction, repetitive or negative thought patterns, offering a profound sense of peace, presence, and inner stillness.
Why is Vedic Chanting Important in Today's World?
Vedic chanting serves as a transformative practice, helping to shift the mind away from negativity and distraction. In today’s fast-paced world, where mental business and negativity often dominate, Vedic chanting creates space for deeper awareness and calm. Whether calming a restless mind or energizing for focus, chanting provides a powerful tool to harmonize the mind, body, and spirit.
Chanting for Clarity and Focus
More than just a practice, Vedic chanting, when learned correctly, becomes a contemplative tool for drawing your senses inward and achieving greater focus. It empowers you to transcend mental distractions, enhance memory, and harmonize the mind and body. Whether energizing, calming, or centering, the chants are selected to bring clarity and stability to your life, inspiring a transformative journey.

What Students Say
With formal training in singing, and learning from renowned teachers, I thought I understood chanting. But Tara’s teaching is unique. Chanting with her doesn’t come from the vocal cords alone—it resonates through the whole body, awakening the sacred language’s authenticity in every syllable. Tara creates a space of deep focus and trust, where the chants feel as though they’ve been part of me all along, simply waiting to resurface. This sense of spiritual awakening, continuous support, and connection to a larger community makes learning with her one of the most valuable investments I’ve ever made

I began my Vedic chanting study with Tara during the pandemic. It became a source of light right
away and has not dimmed. Her teachings are pure and lineage driven, she teaches as she has been taught. Also coming from an ashtanga background, the passing down of knowledge is so important. I have learned so much in these last years. This study is helping me rework past samskaras and I am so grateful
~ Kyra, yoga teacher, Kansas City
Vedic chanting opens a door to a lesser-explored aspect of yoga. With its formal structure,
moments of laughter, and even tears, Tara’s patience and guidance were exactly what I was seeking. She is truly the real deal, offering lineage-based wisdom with a strong emphasis on pronunciation (varṇa) and cadence (sama). Her keen ear helps you improve and refine, whether or not you have a music background. Tara’s dedication to her own practice shines through as she generously shares her knowledge with students willing to commit—whether it’s complex Yoga Sūtras, şlokas, or simple māntras

I’ve done the Introduction to chanting with Tara online and I’ve been very impressed by the quality
and the depth of this experience. Tara is very passionate and precise about transmitting this knowledge exactly as she received it and preserving the lineage. She’s been a kind and welcoming but at the same time demanding (in a positive way) teacher. You wanted to have your homework done for the following lesson! I started doing this practice in my life and I hope to proceed with further courses with Tara. I feel gratitude!

Dear Tara, we met at the beginning of this year in Koblenz, an ashtanga class and we, started with
Vedic chanting. It was so beautiful. that I searched for suitable courses/workshops the same day, I really wanted to learn more: how to pronounce , what do these words mean? When can I use which Mantra? where do I start?. And actually I found out, that you also teach online, so I signed up for the course, Introduction to Vedic Chanting. This course has created a great foundation for my own practice. Vedic Chanting gives me personally so much peace but also energy, it is magical. You have such a loving and humorous way of teaching proper pronunciation. There was a personal and feedback every week, this is super important and helpful, thank you for that It is important to me, to learn this ancient knowledge, in the smallest detail. For this, this course and you as a dedicated teacher with lots of experience have me a perfect start. It will not be my last class with you to sein. Sharing your knowledge with us, guiding students, so much appreciation in your teaching, thank you for that!

Her teaching is true, solid, deep and you can feel it’s the fruit of a long and strong practice. We’re very lucky she’s sharing that with so much generosity. So again, thank you Tara

I've been studying and chanting the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali with Tara for over a year, and it has
become an enriching part of my week. After focusing on pronunciation, we now explore each Sutra from traditional viewpoints. Some Sutras spontaneously arise in daily life, offering personal insight. The teachings are now becoming more experiential and individualized, with Svadhyaya (self-observation) at the core. Although I sometimes struggle to translate concepts into my native German, I feel supported and free to ask questions. I sense a deeper vibration in Sanskrit that resonates beyond the cognitive mind. This journey has transformed my understanding of yoga, revealing and confirming it as being much more than just Asana and Pranayama
~ Nicole Remy, Yoga Teacher, France
I have been practicing Vedic chanting with Tara for the past year and a half. Tara provides support
that combines a bath of genuine kindness, encouragement, precision, and high standards. This makes my learning very easy, it facilitates it, and isn’t that the primary quality of a good teacher? Tara shares her knowledge with generosity and simplicity, never overcomplicating concepts that she knows can take a lifetime to grasp. I would like to express my appreciation for the rare and precious nature of her presence and her teaching. With all my thanks
~ Flora Trigo, Yoga Teacher Trainer, France
I’ve discovered a whole new world of sound and chanting. It’s even changed how I speak—I now feel more confident, as if my throat has been unblocked. Both my Russian and English speech sound noticeably clearer. I’d heard Vedic chanting was powerful, and now I truly feel it. Tara exceeded my expectations, sharing so much knowledge in a short time. Her small group approach ensures everything is taught thoroughly. Energy says everything about a great teacher, and Tara’s energy speaks volumes. I’m so grateful to have started this journey with her—it’s just the beginning!
